Girls may work together on these pins or may participate individually through community and church teams or clubs. The goal is to GET ACTIVE and PLAY SAFE! To earn a sports pin, girls have to practice, play, and learn about rules, safety and equipment, and most of all have fun!

Badge Program: AHG helps girls acquire skills that will assist them in all areas of life. AHG offers over 90 badges throughout 6 frontiers. The Badge program provides opportunities for girls to work as a group or individually on badges as well as interact across age groups, as older girls teach younger girls. Each Badge can be earned at three different levels (Tenderheart, Explorer, and Pioneer/Patriot). Please see the Girl Handbook for more information about completing badges.
Level Award: Patriots have the opportunity to earn the Dolley Madison Level Award, the highest awards earned as a Patriot. To earn this prestigious award, girls must complete a combination of badge work, service hours, special and community events, earn the Religious Recognition, activity planning, promotion, and implementation, and participate in AHG recruitment. Specific information on the Dolley Madison Level Awards can be found in the AHG Girl Handbook.
Level Award: Pioneers have the opportunity to earn the Harriet Tubman Level Award, the highest awards earned as a Pioneer. To earn this prestigious award, girls must complete a combination of badge work, service hours, special and community events, mentor a younger unit, and planning, organizing, and implementing an AHG or community activity. Service Stars: AHG emphasizes community service! Service Stars are awarded for community service hours. Pioneers earn one WHITE Service Star for every 15 hours of community service given and Patriots earn one GOLD Service Star for every 20 hours of community service given . Service is meant to be community-oriented. Anything done outside of the home and for which payment is not received can be considered service. The Service Hour Tracking Sheet can be found here and on page 68 of the AHG Girl Handbook
Stars & Stripes Award: Stars & Stripes the highest recognition in American Heritage Girls, a multi-faceted award that honors girls who epitomize the AHG Oath and Creed. The award incorporates Badgework, service, and leadership. This award takes a lot of hard work and may take a year or more to achieve. For more information on the Stars & Stripes Award click the link below.

Religious Recognitions: The Lord is the reason that AHG exists– He is the reason that anything exists! It’s important for AHG members to learn more about Him, their faith and the need to find His will for their lives. The Religious Recognitions program for American Heritage Girls provides a venue for girls to grow stronger in their faith and service to God. American Heritage Girls wear their religious emblems with special pride as they show publicly their commitment to spiritual growth in their life. AHG is honored to offer the PRAY (Programs of Religious Activities with Youth) recognition program for Protestant girls and the National Religious Recognitions Program of the Catholic Church for Catholic girls.

Fun Patches/Activity Patches: Fun Patches are earned when girls participate in activities and special events outside of meetings such as parades, summer camp, hikes, and so much more. There is no limit to the fun patches a girl can earn.
