
Troop meeting will occur on the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Monday of each month. Troop meeting on the 1st and 3rd Mondays will consist of an opening and closing ceremony, devotional time, and badge work. Troop meeting on the 2nd Mondays will be dedicated to spiritual growth, leadership skills, and fellowship.
SEPTEMBER: AHG NATIONAL DAY OF SERVICE
AHG National Day of Service marks the birthday of American Heritage Girls. Troops are expected to mark this date by completing service projects. This year we will be meeting to create 250 origami butterflies for the upcoming TEARS Walk & Rock event in October.

DECEMBER: WREATHES ACROSS AMERICA
We will be participating in the Wreaths Across America program laying wreaths on the graves of American Service Men & Women. Each December on National Wreaths Across America Day, our mission to Remember, Honor and Teach is carried out by coordinating wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery, as well as over 1,100 additional locations in all 50 U.S. states, at sea, and abroad.

MARCH 17: FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN
We will be packing meals for children all over the world in need. Feed My Starving Children® is a Christian non-profit organization committed to feeding God’s children hungry in body and spirit. The approach is simple: children and adults hand-pack meals specifically formulated for malnourished children, and we ship these meals to our distribution partners. FMSC meals have reached nearly 70 countries around the world in our history.

APRIL 8: ARBOR DAY TREE PLANTING
As a "THANK YOU", We will be planting a new tree at our charter organization, First Southern Baptist Church at Sahuaro Ranch, to replace one of the many damaged by last year's monsoon storms. Girls should wear their Class "B" uniforms and closed-toed shoes.

MAY 26: FLAGS FOR THE FALLEN
We will be placing flags on the graves of military men and women who have honored us with the ultimate sacrifice at the National Memorial Cemetery. Opening ceremonies and flag raising begin promptly at 7:00am followed by flag placement. Please arrive at the cemetery by 6:50AM so we can gather together and get the flags and pokers. Girls should come dressed in their Class A uniforms. We will be meeting next to plot 18D which is on the west side of the cemetery near the information center and flagpole. Doughnuts and beverages are provided once flag placement has concluded.

OCTOBER: AHG FAMILY CAMP
We will be holding our 1st AHG family camp at Bear Canyon Lake near Heber, Arizona. We will be working on a variety of outdoor skills included in the Camping Badge, Outdoor Skills Badge, Fire Safety & Fire Building Badge, and Outdoor Cooking Badge. Siblings are welcome to participate as well. Families are on their own for food and camping supplies. Please see event flyer for more detailed information.

​​NOVEMBER: CHURCH CLOSED FOR VOTING
Due to equipment being present at the church for the following Election Tuesday, the church will not be available for use. Therefore, we will be meeting under the ramadas at Sahuaro Ranch Park for a fun night of fellowship and fun. The meeting time will remain the same.

DECEMBER: AHG/TL CHRISTMAS PARTY
We will be holding out annual Christmas party complete with fun games, a small gift exchange, and dessert buffet. Families are welcome and encouraged to join us. Please bring a dessert to share.
AUGUST: PARENT INFORMATION MEETING
AHG AZ1320 will be having a parent information meeting to present perspective parents with the AHG program, introduce AZ1320’s Troop Board, and to answer any questions parents might have about registering their girl(s) with AHG.

JULY: ADULT/GIRL PLANNING MEETING
ALL girls and their parents are invited to join us for our yearly planning meeting for the 2017-2018 AHG year. At this meeting the girls will choose their badges, special events, camping trips, and other AHG events for the upcoming year.
NOVEMBER: SURPRISE VETERAN'S DAY PARADE
We will be participating in the Surprise Veteran’s Day Parade. Girls should come in full Class A uniform. We will be decorating the float the Friday night prior and will need assistance from anyone willing to help. Decorating location TBD.

DECEMBER: GLENDALE HOMETOWN PARADE
We will be participating in the Glendale Hometown Christmas Parade. Participants need to be at the staging area by 9am. The parade will last approximately 2 hours. We will be working on construction for the float the weekend prior to the parade and will be decorating the float the Friday evening before. We will need assistance with both projects for anyone willing to help.

FEBRUARY: SCOUT SUNDAY
The Sunday that falls before February 8 is known as Scout Sunday, which is the primary date to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to scouting and the church. The girls and their accomplishments within AHG will be recognized before the congregation during the morning service and the church will pray over the girls and AHG for the upcoming year. Girls should wear their Class A uniform.

We will be hosting a family fun night of swimming at the Centennial Pool in Glendale from 7:30-9:30pm. Cost will be determined soon.

July 21: AHG ROLLER SKATING
We will be hosting a family fun skating morning at Great Skate in Glendale from 9:00am-12:00pm. Cost will be determined soon.

NOVEMBER: JOINING AWARD / REDEDICATION CEREMONY
We will be having our fist Awards Ceremony in which the girls will earn the Joining Award for AHG, the 1st award earned when becoming a member of AHG. Girls who already have the Joining Award will be rededicating themselves to living by the AHG Oath & Creed.

At the mid-year ceremony we will honor the achievements of the units and individual girls. Families are welcome and encouraged to attend. Dessert fellowship to follow.

JANUARY: Anza Trek is a yearly event hosted by the Diocese of Tucson’s Catholic Committee for Scouting. This annual retreat offers an opportunity to travel the trails of early Catholic missionaries in the region and build lasting friendships among Catholic Scouts while learning more about their faith. Mass is celebrated outside the walls of the original Tumacacori mission and closes with a campfire that includes skits and songs from the youth as well as a performance from the Singing Scoutmaster.

FEBRUARY: Open to all Arizona Girl & Boy Scouts, American Heritage Girls and Trail Life USA Scouts Ages 11-17. Raytheon, in conjunction with AIAA is pleased to announce its annual Scout Day, a program designed to raise local scouts’ awareness of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Scouts will have the opportunity to earn one of 13 Merit Badges/Patches, tour engineering labs, view demonstrations, and interact with professionals in a personal setting. Parents and Scout leaders may attend but positions are limited. Registration coming soon. Class sizes are limited so register early! $10 per attendee – Includes lunch/patch/materials and T-Shirts for youth participants and lunch/patch for adults.

We will be holding a spaghetti lunch for the congregation and friends of our charter organization, First Southern Baptist Church at Sahuaro Ranch from 10:00am-1:30pm. Girls should come in their Class "A" uniforms ready to help set up, serve, and clean up.
APRIL & MAY: PINEWOOD DERBY
We will be participating in the TL/AHG Pinewood Derby. Cars are available for purchase from TL. Car workshops will be help on April 14th and 21st to prepare for the race. Race will be held at FSBCG on May 5th from 9:00am-12:00pm. More information and sign up available at the TL sign-in table.
