American Heritage Girls is the premier national character development organization for young women that embraces Christian values and encourages family involvement. American Heritage Girls began over 20 years ago with the mission to build women of integrity through service to God, family, community and country. AHG has now grown to over 40,000 members in all 50 states.

AHG operates with the goal and desire to give each girl the complete AHG experience by focusing on the six (6) key emphasis of AHG including:

​Life Skills – AHG helps girls acquire skills that will assist them in all areas of life through their badge program consisting of over 90 badges in six (6) frontiers - Our Heritage, Personal Well-Being, Family Living, Arts, Science and Technology, and Outdoor Skills.
​
Girl Leadership – AHG's multi-Level troop structure offers many opportunities for girls to experience different leadership roles; the leadership opportunities and responsibilities of which increase accordingly as a girl ages throughout the program.
Spiritual Development – AHG exists to help girls learn more about God, about how to walk in faith, and the need to seek God’s will in our lives, using the Programs of Religious Activities with Youth (PRAY) organization and the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry (NFCYM).
Social Development – Each troop provides plenty of opportunities throughout the year, including troop meetings, field trips, camp-outs, and special events, for every girl to make friends and enjoy spending time with them.

Teamwork & Building Confidence – Working as a team is important within a troop, especially when the girls venture outdoors. AHG helps girls grow in confidence by learning self-reliance in the outdoors.
​
Character Development - Helping a girl learn to listen to the Holy Spirit inside of her to determine what is right and wrong, and ultimately gain the ability to make sound, moral decisions, is what AHG is all about.
